Base Technologies, Inc., developer of BaseCommute, has been providing Transportation Demand Management (TDM) software solutions since 2001.

Base Technologies has been a leader in the development of TDM web-based software applications for commuter programs around the country, starting with the Congressionally-funded two-year pilot program titled eCommute, overseen by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This pilot program required the development of a web-based application to accurately measure mobile emission reductions resulting from telework programs.  In order to accomplish this goal, Base Technologies provided its services to design a system which was able to track employee travel reduction on a daily basis, manage and report on program growth, and manage commuter incentives.  This experience led to the competitive award in 2004 requiring new features and enhancements for the Atlanta Clean Air Campaign (CAC) system, CommuteTrak

BaseCommute products have been developed by a company with more than 20 years of experience in providing software solutions to Federal, state, and local governments.

In 2006, Base Technologies was awarded a multi-year contract by Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (MWCOG) to redesign its Commuter Connections applications, including rideshare, GRH, and program management applications. In 2007, the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG) awarded Base Technologies a contract to integrate program and incentive management tools with an existing rideshare application. This cumulative experience provides us with a comprehensive, nationwide perspective on current TDM issues. Our growth in the industry reflects our commitment to our customers. Providing responsive personal service is what differentiates us from our competitors.

Base Technologies’ knowledge and understanding of TDM goals is central to the design and functionality of BaseCommute.

Base Technologies is committed to reducing Single Occupancy Vehicles (SOV) by working with clients to customize the BaseCommute products meeting their requirements and incentivize commuters to take advantage of ride matching and commuter logging.  Ride matching (BaseMatch), using Google MapsAPI, allows commuters to see in real-time their matching possibilities and then log their commutes (BaseTrak), whether it be SOV or a modal shift to carpooling, vanpooling, transit, walking, or any other method offered supported by the TDM program.  Base Technologies is actively involved and member of the Association for Commuter Transportation (ACT), Transportation for America (T4America), American Association for Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) and other similar associations.
